Sorry Hugo but you missed a very important part of the update, which is the upgrade of the browser to support Flash 9 video. Many PS3 users have been waiting for this for quite some time.

"Power save settings" and "Background downloading" are two things I've wanted. I hate going to bed while downloading something, and leaving my PS3 switched on, so it's nice that I'll be able to do it now knowing that it will switch itself off, as well as the controller! The "Video" feature is also a nice addition.
Sunil,
You can use a piece of software called MKV2VOB, which will mux the video and audio streams into an avi container, transcoding video and audio, if necessary, so that the video is playable on the PS3. It's very easy to use as well!

Trevor,
Yea I've used MKV2VOB before, but it would be easier if I didn't have to convert and I could just stream the movie..but never mind!

So many features are added to the PS3 which I suppose are great for those who need them but I would much prefer SONY to concentrate on getting some better games software out for it.

Still no support for .mkv movies...shame that!
