The new Xbox story editorial style is *definitely* not influenced by my having just given in a bought an Xbox again (had one before I traded it for my PS3 on launch day). Hard drive installs will get rid of the reason I've held of until now. Plus I want, scratch that, *need* to play Gears of War 2.

I'm guessing this will be a free update and also not limited to Gold account members?

Exactly so.

All is not good in Xbox world at the moment. It transpires this "great" new upgrade that does not really add much functionality (except allowing me to install just 1 game on my Xbox 20GB 360), will only work on Premiums and Elites. It's not suitable for Arcades and Core 360s. You need at least 256MB of memory space, which those 360's don't have. (technically the Arcade does, but you won't have anything left to save your game progress).
Not very good, seems very dishonest of Microsoft to keep this info buried for so long...

One game on your hard drive is better than no games on your hard drive. and anyone who doesn't have enough storage for their Xbox 360 to get this update is almost definitely the kind of casual gamer than won't care. You're blowing the 'problem' out of proportion.

See here for free 512meg memory card (or discounted hard-drive) if you are an Arcade/Core system owner: http://www.xboxstorageupgrade.com/hh/web/home/hhauthentication.jsp

That's far too neutral and unbiased.
You'd better slip in a couple of compliments for the PS3 or the usual suspects won't be able to accuse you of being a Sony fanboy ;-D
