60GB Xbox 360 Launches Friday

all good and well, but what I want to know is whether it has the jasper (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/xbox-rumor/rumor-xbox-360-jasper-motherboard-set-for-808-release-309411.php) motherboard?

so who is going to be the first to crack open (and void their warranty then?) to let us all know?

@Matt G Baish, i have happly bought a wii and a ps3 safe in the knowledge they have a very low failure rate, u are very lucky to have never suffered the red ring of death, unless u live on the moon u know that the failure rate of the xbox360 is still far to high. And I know all about the 3 year extension to the warrenty, i have nor the time or the patience to be posting consoles back and forth, i'd much rather own something that just works. The xbox 360 has some great features & games but mirosoft shot themselves in the foot trying to get to the market 1st.

@David Hindley; Hmmm, I think the fact that you already have a PS3 & a Wii is really the main reason you don't want an Xbox-360. 19 million units shipped worldwide (vs 14.41 million for Ps3 & 29.62 million for Wii) looks pretty healthy so I don't quite get why you think MS shot themselves in the foot? Also - the current (old) dashboard is slick (lets hope the new one improves on this), there is a huge selection of games, the online services IMO are unassailable by *ANY* other current gen console, it works as a fantastic home media centre (wireless streaming from PC with TVersity works best IMO). Only downside is no browser. (A quick look around the internet reveals a 16% failure rate - however it looked like 33% of version one units had some sort of failure so I guess version 2 is doing well to bring that figure down).

@Matt G Baish, U have me completly wrong, the only thing that stops me owning a xbox 360 is the chance i will have to keep shipping it back & forth, i agree its a fantastic, if not flawed piece of hardware, and the reason ms has shot themselves in the foot is that they have had to folk out millions of dollors repairing bricked consoles, if they had been paitent and properly tested there hardware before release they would proberly be ahead of nintendo in global sales, instead they made there choice in being 1st to the market with a next gen console, although at there own cost, ms as a company is allways making these sort of mistakes, look at the mess they have made with vista.
