As We Told You: 60GB Xbox 360 Now Official!

I've been preaching this to you since early March, but as they say: now you're gonna believe me!
Microsoft has gone and got exclusive on the 60GB Xbox 360 - triple the storage offered by the current 20GBer - and, as an additional bonus, announced the new edition will carry the same pricing as its forebear ($349) while the original will drop to just $299. Oh and it all happened for E3 so yes, I'm feeling smug.

So too was Xbox Director of Product Management Albert Penello, who crowed: "We know consumers need more and more space to store the amazing digital content Xbox 360 offers, and we're giving it to them at no extra charge. No one device offers the depth and breadth of entertainment that Xbox 360 can deliver, and now you'll have three times the storage to manage all that great content."
Out the box a wireless controller, headset, LIVE Silver membership and one month subscription to Xbox LIVE Gold will all be provided - though still no HDMI cable.
So as it stands the Xbox family will now comprise the Xbox 360 Arcade ($279) which must surely be up for the chop, the 20GB Xbox 360, the new 60GBer and the 120GB Elite ($449) which is certainly due a price cut.
Due for launch next month, the 60GB Xbox 360 once again ups the ante in the brutal console war just as the PlayStation 3 was building up a head of steam. Who will win? Who knows? But one thing is for certain: when we tell you we have a rock solid source you better believe us... ;)

Because you play it in-game via custom playlists, or because you use your 360 as a hifi? It's surely too loud / power hungry for the later me thinks...

I've got an original 20GB Xbox 360 and over 10GB free on the HDD...
Can I ask y'all what exactly you are planning to fill your 60GB edition with? Anyone?
