PlayStation Firmware 2.41 Available

The word on the street (and the PlayStation Blog) is that Firmware 2.41 is now available to download for you PS3 should you wish to do so. The only change since 2.40 is that Sony has managed to fix the, a-hem, slight problem of consoles being broken by the update. Otherwise it's the same feature set as some of us have been enjoying problem-free since last week.

Those features, for those of you living in under-a-rocksville are twofold: Trophies, which have yet to be seen in any 'proper' games, and most importantly in-game XMB access. The latter of those two has, of course been awaited for some time.
That these features can now be obtained without gambling the life of your console is, obviously, a Good Thing. Although we do appreciate the irony that an update intended improve the PS3s usability, in fact stopped the console from being usable at all.
If only curing the RRoD was so simple a task!
