Joytech's Wii Power Station recently offered a compelling alternative to overcoming the uber-popular Nintendo console's voracious battery habit, but has Thrustmaster just come up with a better one...?

Like the Power Station, the 'T-Charge All NW' goes for the back replacement method and allows the remotes to be plugged directly into the stand to recharge – no need to remove the batteries separately. Like the Power Station Thrustmaster's model also doesn't require a dedicated power point, instead charging over USB meaning it can be plugged either directly into the Wii or any other device with a USB port.

Where it steps up from the Power Station however is that the stand itself also provides storage for a pair of Nunchuks while the battery holders can be used individually enabling the device to charge additional rechargeable batteries when the remotes aren't docked. So time to bin that old dedicated charger too.

The T-Charge All NW goes on sale at the end of this month with a £24.99 RRP – the same as the Power Station. Of course the latter can be found for as little as £17.95 now but I suspect online retailers will be heavily discounting Thrustmaster's effort too. Horses for courses, and the choice – as always – is with you...
