VAX C89-MA-B

The VAX C89-MA-B is the most powerful compact vacuum cleaner with multiple cyclones that Vax has ever created. Designed in Britain, although small and easy to tidy away with its neat sledge shape, the C89-MA-B remains a very powerful machine and has an impressive 2.5 litre capacity that ensures you don’t have to pop back and forth to the bin all the time to empty it — although emptying it is very easy.

As it contains multi-cyclonic force you always have powerful suction during vacuuming, even on awkward surfaces. It cleans equally well on carpets or hard floors, but the wheels do struggle slightly on wood floors. It’s also easy to adjust, so if you’re very tall or very short you can make it comfortable to use.

The multiple cyclones mean that the dirt is separated from the air flow. Dirt collects in the container rather than the filter, so the filter can work more effectively. This is good because the filter is quite a special one — it’s a HEPA filter, or High Efficiency Particulate Air filter, which means that any particles of dust, pollen or pet hair that want to escape from the vacuum body and irritate those who have allergies are kept safely inside the vacuum instead of being redistributed around the house.

Included with the VAX C89-MA-B is a dusting brush, crevice tool for nooks and crannies and an upholstery tool to clean things such as sofas and armchairs. The hose is metallic and extends to a good long length.

Weighing in at 5.6 kilograms, the C89-MA-B features a nice and long cable so you don’t have to switch between plugs whilst cleaning and although the plastic finish does feel a bit cheap, for the combined price and suction power you’re getting there has to be a compromise somewhere.
