I saw my first 3D film in the cinema last week and I was impressed. However I think for home use it has a lot to live up to, and after reading this article it only confirms my thoughts. I've had a HD TV for a few years and in the last 3 months purchased an upgrade. I will not be looking to do so again in the near future, instead I'll wait a few more years. It will be interesting to see how 3D does though, maybe one day it will seem a viable option for my living room.

Good reporting I thought, I was going to say "good report, I thought" and point up with perhaps a smiley how it rhymes, but no need to invite hostility, I can create that without a pome.
The report was accurate, but gloomy, I can feel my initial 3D enthusiasm waning and like other commentators can't see any chance of shelling out anymore for quite sometime, to follow John Arhers' weather analogy, it's the wrong climate.
What happened to Channel Four and their intention to transmit some 'events' ? clearly one of the Derren Brown progs did have 3D moments as did the film on the life of Keith Floyd that he famously died watching, cruel irony that story, I drove the staff at my local Sainsburys quite mad by constantly asking if the glasses had arrived, they probably refer to me as "the 3D nutter".
Well not anymore buddies.

I can't really see the appeal of 3D TVs, even though they're being hyped beyond measure by the manufacturers and certain TV stations. At least, not while you have to wear glasses to see the effect.
I know that they have to find the next big thing so they can get us all to upgrade, but it doesn't seem long ago that HD was being introduced, and we're still in the middle of that transition. I've just bought a HD TV, so it'll be a long, long time before I even consider a new 3D one.
