Panasonic Viera TH-42PZ800 42in Plasma TV Comments

I purchased a th42-pv500 nearly 5 years ago at a cost of £2700, the TV still serves me well and even at 720p the picture looks great. You cant match the quality of the blacks from a panny plasma. I would love to get this new screen but just cant justify the change just yet !!! I agree with all you have said and the stand makes the TV more than just a display.

As it happens I took the plunge and bought this very unit around May time, and to be honest I have not regretted it at all.
The unit is made of metal with a glass front none of this cheap plastics you find on other TV's so it feels nice and sturdy like a quality product should!
The viewing angles are great however with the glass screen on the front you can some times see a slight shadow between the screen and the layer of glass covering it if looking from a very acute angle.
I recently bought a Panasonic HDC-SD100 camcorder, and you can simply take the SD card out and put it into the TV to view your HD recordings, very quick very easy to use.
I think something they should have added to this model was the FreeSat tuner, being the premium model it would have been nice to have had that option as well, currently where I live you can't get freeview so that whole section of the tv is useless to me.
As you say the sound on the unit is very good for a flat panel, I have to say I was impressed and still am by it, however for proper movie watching you cant beat a good surround sound system.
Over all very pleased with mine but I know that the 2009 models are going to have some features that I am going to be jealous of! I guess that just the way the tech world works :)

i have to make a choose between panasonic 42pz8oo and philips 42pfl9603
can buy them at same price but can't compare them side by side.
