"Even better news is that the set features a 1080/24p mode called TruCinema. This runs at 120Hz and uses a 5:5 pulldown technique to display each of the 24 frames five times, but because all of the frames are shown for the same amount of time there's no judder."
Well, this review was one of the reasons I bought this TV, as the nature of the advertised 24p support was almost impossible to find out.
However, it seems that your statement is wrong. 24p certainly does not look smooth. It is almost certainly displayed at 50Hz, which, of course, is the wrong thing to do. It's beyond me why manufacturers do this, as the effect is very visible, and horrible.
I'm trying to return my set. My 4 year old LCD TV plays back Bluray 24p at 48Hz smoothly, so I know what it is supposed to look like!
