May seem a bit late to comment on this - but this TV set deserves a comment after 3 years of ownership.
The PX600/60 models were the last year Panasonic shiped quality rather than price focused TV sets. The price for this 50" top model was 4.000 euro, same model in 2009 cost 1.500 euro.
The set was made with specs and components taken from the broadcast products, build to last, using high-end scallers and components still valid and competitive in 2009. Except perhaps for the technical black level ( which no one can see anyway ), the set is still superiour in picture quality to most TV sets in the year 2009. There is a reason why this set cost 4.000 euro.
I wrote a comment on the new Philips 32PFL9604 - comparing this top LCD with the plasma from 2006, even the LCD is a 32" and the plasma is a 50", the plasma still outperforms in overall picture quality, especially in motion handling and scalling.
