Channel 4 HD Joining Virgin Media

Virgin Media's HD offering just get better and better. Following the addition of the HD BBC iPlayer - among others Channel 4 HD will soon be launching on Virgin.

Importantly, Channel 4 HD will - like BBC HD - be available to all HD subscribers, with no need to be on a specific package, unlike with other HD channels. The upshot is Virgin Media subscribers getting access to such bastions of quality broadcasting as Skins, Desperate Housewives and Shameless in high definition.
Annoyingly there's no mention of when 4HD will launch on Virgin Media. "Coming soon" is hardly specific but hopefully we're looking at weeks, not months - pre-Christmas seems a dead cert, at least.
With Sky's exclusivity rights over 4HD now expired, it's possible that the channel could also make its way onto Freesat. Lest we forget, 4HD is one of the four HD channels coming to Freeview HD (when it's finally available) and it seems reasonable to think Channel 4 would want to reach as wide an audience as possible - adverts don't watch themselves.

@Ben, yep, unfortunately I was hoping for more programmes on 4HD to be in HD like BBCHD. It seems there's only one or two in HD every day.
