Hugo - the photo makes the v+ box look very impressive and shiny! In reality it's a nasty box that gets very hot despite the entire top side being vented and you can't tell from the display if its on or not as there are more lights on when in standby??!?
That said, I'm using it far more these days than my Sky HD box, as BBC iPlayer and 4On-demand are brilliant.

I was under the impression that ESPN will be launching a new channel for the footy and that the existing ESPN channel will not be showing it.

@Matt Ross - Hi, I'm just going on what I've read on the Cable Forum (which tends to be quite reliable). The ESPN channel that launches on Virgin will also carry American sports and other football leagues. For more details see: http://www.espn.co.uk/sports-on-espn/
The ESPN America will relaunch at a later date. Channel lineup (supposed to be coming this Monday):
529. ESPN
530. ESPN HD
531. ESPN America - will relaunch at an later date.
533. ESPN Classic

Great news. I wouldn't have paid for it but as I'm on XL TV already looks like I get it for no additional cost!
It's becoming very tempting to upgrade to HD now with that and Eurosport HD confirmed. I was holding out to see if we would get Sky Sports HD.

Channel 4HD launched on Virgin yesterday

@Ben, yep, unfortunately I was hoping for more programmes on 4HD to be in HD like BBCHD. It seems there's only one or two in HD every day.

Finally, good news for us Virgin Media subscribers. Lots of HD channels (well compared to before, not compared to Sky) launching. I'm not going to upgrade to the XL package to get the new HD channels, so getting 4HD for free is a bonus.
Also, ESPN HD is available to all Virgin subscribers throughout August, so hopefully I'll be able to watch some Premier League football in HD.
