Displaying DSLR photos might not strike one as a typical use for a TV, but if you happen to be in the market for an LCD set for just that purpose, then the JVC LT42WX70 could be for you. Why? Because JVC claims that the Precision Xiview set boasts 100 per cent sRGB and 96 per cent Adobe RGB colour space reproduction.

The 42in TV's 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution isn't going to be much cop at displaying full resolution DSLR shots - especially not from the likes on Nikon's 24.5MP D3X - but for offering a colour-accurate preview it should do the job. In a sense the LT42WX70 is probably best thought of as a very big digital photo frame, then.

That's not to say that it's not acceptably equipped on the TV front, however. A dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000:1 bodes well for black levels and 120Hz processing with JVC's Clear Motion Drive III technology should deliver smooth moving images. A trio of HDMI ports are present for connecting cameras or video sources and there's a PC input, too.

No UK pricing, but in the US the LT42WX70 will set you back some $2,400 (~£1,500).
