Rumour: Hulu Aiming For September UK Launch

If the Telegraph's "sources close to the UK negotiations" are correct, Hulu is currently looking to sign deals with ITV and Channel 4 as well as being in talks with the BBC in preparation for a UK launch this September.

According to the Telegraph's source: "Hulu is proposing to launch this September with 3,000 hours of American content, as well as material from the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. It will be playing catch-up in the short-term until it has enough British TV content and will need a unique selling point in the short term." Apparently the negotiations are being slowed by Hulu's desire to control the advertising displayed around content hosted on its platform. The implication being that Channel 4 and ITV wanted either a revenue share, or come input into the advertising displayed - either way seems a bit cheeky seeing as Hulu will presumably be paying for the content in the first place.
