Sharp Aquos D TVs Bring Yahoo! Video

Internet widgets, such as weather reports and RSS feeds, seem to be the buzzword for TVs this year but Sharp's Aquos D Series 10 is going one better - at least in Japan. The range's Internet-connectivity will enable streaming of web-based video from various Yahoo! Content channels, which is pretty neat I'm sure you'll agree.

Coming in 32in, 40in, 46in and 52in sizes all sets offer Full HD, 1,920 x 1,080 pixel, 120Hz panels. Dynamic contrast ratios of 15,000:1 aren't as high as some manufacturers quote, but that could simply be Sharp being realistic with its figures.
A trio of HDMI ports isn't particularly noteworthy, nor are dual 10W speakers although a digital optical audio output, enabling pass-through to a dedicated speaker system compensates for that somewhat.
No UK release details as yet, but as the last Aquos D series made its way over here without much delay on the Japanese release, there's little reason to think the same wont happen this generation.

A trio of Ethernet ports? Don't you mean HDMI ports?
