HD iPlayer Available on Virgin Media Comments

Yes, finally, more HD programs on Virgin! We may only have one HD channel, but at least we've got iPlayer HD content now - it may only be a small drop in the ocean compared to Sky's offerings, but it's a start.

Seems all right here in Grimsby, though I know that's not much comfort. Watched a bit of Jools Holland and, while it's not as good as the dedicated BBC HD channel, it was still a step above the normal on demand stuff from BBC iPlayer (on Virgin).

Virgin are using approximately 18Mb/s for their BBC iPlayer HD ofering. It is by far the best BBC iPlayer picture quality yet.

Wow, that's good news elle. Now all we need are a few more HD channels from Virgin or, failing that, some more HD on demand stuff.

I'm still waiting for iplayer on the Xbox 360. I know it can be done with a bit of jiggery-pokery after downloading to a networked pc, but...

to be honest virgin are a waste of time i have never been happy with them. i have just purchased a new hd tv from www.digitaldirect.co.uk and they have offered me a sky hd box for £29. the hd package all in works out cheaper than virgin per month and it seems there is more hd content
