Sky Extends Half Price HD Box Deal

Sky is certainly keen to promote its HD service...
Following a very hush, hush Sky+ HD 50 per cent off promotion until the end of September the Murdock owned media giant has decided to make it something to shout about by extending the offer to 31 October.
In pure financial terms the deal means the £150 Sky+ HD box will now cost just £75 though it is worth noting under either price there comes a mandatory £60 installation fee.

For existing customers there is an upside to all this in the small print however and that is any currently installed Sky box will be serviced before it is removed for the Sky+ HD box meaning it receives a fresh 12 month warranty. Given the mere £10pm additional cost for upgrading to a multi-room setup I'd suggest you get this (re)installed at the same time.
The £75 deal also coincides with the launch of seven new Sky HD channels: Sky Movies Drama HD, Sky Movies Modern Greats HD, Sky Movies Action/Thriller HD, Sky Movies Sci-Fi/Horror HD, Sky Movies Family HD, Sky Movies Comedy HD (so basically all the flicks now) plus Sky Real Lives HD.
Total Sky HD channels now total a whopping 26 which is rather impressive, especially considering ITV HD won't arrive until next year when its Virgin/Freesat exclusive deals expire. So - Setanta aside (hurry up Irishmen!) - now looks a jolly good time to hop aboard.
I just did...
