We're never ones to complain about a company launching an entry level range of TVs. Especially when, Like Sharp's SB-series those sets actually pack some pretty decent specs; but then Sharp's idea of entry level also means Full HD resolutions across the board.

The SB range comprises three sets, the 42in LC-42SB45U, 46in LC-46SB54U and 56in LC-52SB55U all of which, as well as 1,920 x 1,080 resolutions boast 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratios, controlled by ambient light sensors which calibrate the screens brightness to best suit their environment. Sharp's Special Contrast Engine is also on board tweaking the same aspect, but based on the images being displayed, rather than the TVs surrounding.

Precious little other information is available, other than that all the sets pack a pair of Component inputs and varying HDMI port configurations. Four on the 52in model, a mere two on the 46in set and three on the 42in-er. All three also have a D-Sub PC input.

The 52in LC-52SB55U and 46in LC-46SB55U are available in the US now with MSRPs of £2,299.99 (~£1,200) and $1,699.99 (~£900) respectively. The 42in LC-42SB55U is expected to come out in September at $1,399.99 (~£700). No UK information yet, though.
