The opening day of the Milan International Furniture Fair may seem an odd time to launch a new TV, but apparently Samsung and Armani didn't get that memo. Extending the collaboration started with the Armani phone the two have today unveiled the Armani LCD HDTV.

The design, apparently inspired by one of Giorgio Armani's home furnishing collections, certainly looks good in the stock shots - but that's not what's really important. Of consequence are the 46in and 52in sizes the HDTV will come in and the 1,920 x 1,080 panels used within boasting 100Hz image modes, unspecified contrast ratios (not that we believe quoted ones anyway) and "HDMI connectors".

A small, but nonetheless interesting addition to the mix is the pair of remotes both sets offer. Both a backlit, standard remote and a smaller ‘pebble' remote with only essential buttons are bundled - probably intended to look suitably stylish sitting on your coffee table.

No other details are mentioned, other than the release schedule. The 46in model is available straight away in Europe, Korea and Russia mid-summer with the 52-incher arriving slightly later. Pricing isn't disclosed as yet, but I think we all know these sets are going to be expensive.
