According to a Google translation of the Taiwanese product page, BenQ’s latest Full-HD 1080p TV creates a “warm and bright picture for our inspiration” and though that particular sentence is I'm sure, a gross mistranslation and therefore makes no sense, I still lend it my full support.

The SH4241 hosts a Full-HD 1080p panel in a slender and stylish 42in casing and can display the requisite 720p, 1080i and 1080p pictures via twin HDMI ports. The panel boats a 1,500:1 contrast ratio, although this is augmented by a form of dynamic backlight adjustment that supposedly takes into account ambient light conditions and picture content.

No details on availability on pricing yet, but we can only hope that BenQ can try to compete with the competition.

Update: We have just heard back from BenQ that they have no plans to sell this TV in the UK. A shame, but hopefully they have something even better lined up for us.
