It was back in July that JVC first unveiled its 120Hz technology. The response has been good (Toshiba now offers something very similar) so JVC has decided to unleash more high end hertz upon us.

The 32in LT-32LC95, 37in LT37LC95 and 42in LT42LC95 are the result and all three sport the company’s headlining 120Hz ‘Clear Motion Technology’ – which is admirably resists calling CMT.

To run through the science one more time the technology uses image interpolation between frames to create a new image every 8.3ms. This is twice the rate of a typical 60Hz set and consequently makes motion smoother and reduces ghosting.

Aside from this (still) headline grabbing technology the trio all feature 1366 x 768 native resolutions, 500cd/m2 brightness and an integrated digital TV tuner. Surprisingly the models each offer just a solitary HDMI port (a disappointment since the aforementioned Tosh now offers models with three), RGB, 2x FireWire, an SD memory card slot and an Ethernet port for online access to populate the EPG.

UK pricing has yet to be announced but we do know the new models will set the Japanese back ¥230,000 (£966.89), ¥290,000 (£1,219.39) and ¥370,000 (£1,555.77) respectively. The smaller two will race onto shelves this month with the 42in daddy coming sometime in March.

Good stuff in general, but get with the HDMI programme guys...
