As the High Definition obsession grows (along with our Karoshi inducing new TV Section) prices also start to come down and Medion has just broken a new price barrier.

The MD 20099 arrives in the UK this week for just under £600 and sports a vast array of features you’d have paid a premium for just 12 months ago. There’s a 1,366 x 768, 720p/1080i compatible screen with 1000:1 contrast ratio and 550 cd/m2 brightness spread across its 32 inches.

Furthermore it sports an HDMI socket with HDCP encoding, D-Sub, S-Video, two SCART ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. PIP (picture-in-picture), PAT (picture and text, Teletex split alongside your viewing) and Nicam stereo sound are also featured and its 1130 x 615 x 200mm dimensions make it suitable for wall mounting.

We can’t vouch for its quality at such a sticker tag but I did recommend a Medion PC to my mother a few years back and it has been a great workhorse. One further point: the MD 20099 is only available from Toys R Us branches and no, I don’t have the foggiest idea why?
