I have the Protégé R835-X. This might be a good upgrade. Thanks for pointing out the 1080p option, touchscreen option and backlit keyboard. Nobody else mentioned this. I've gone from being very disappointed to excited about this notebook.

I've had the astounding Sony VPC-Z1 for 3 years. It's getting a little flaky, and none of the current ultrabooks match its features - until this Z30t.

3 lb weight; 13" screen so it's still usable on an airplane when the guy in front reclines his seat; 1920 x 1080 resolution so small text is readable on the 13 screen; VGA port to hook up to client site projectors; Ethernet to hook into secure networks that don't allow wireless; HDMI to hook into the 24" monitor at my desk, and all without carrying around a pocket full of dongles that I'll loose anyway. Truly a machine for doing real work.

I'm using a 13" MacBook pro but I really like the look of this Z30 with 3 usb ports.
The Bluetooth for the wireless mouse on the MacBook is always dropping out and I have to use up 1 of the 2 USBs with a wired mouse or remain exasperated.
When will the Z30 with a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution appear on the market?
Will the panel be IPS?
Anybody know?
