The 2013 update to the much-loved Nikon D7000, the D7100
is a seriously capable DSLR with excellent handling, great image quality and
good performance. It comes with the 18-105mm kit lens as standard, which is a
great all-rounder giving a large zoom range and stabilisation. There are just a
few niggles. The ultra-high resolution 24.6-megapixel sensor actually has a
negative effect on low-light performance – the more pixels you fit on a sensor,
the smaller they have to be. Some processing tasks take a little time too. It’s
may not quite be the classic the D7000 was, but it is a stonker.
