Panasonic Lumix GX7

Key features:

  • 16-megapixel MFT Live MOS sensor
  • 3-inch, vari-angle 1,040k touchscreen
  • 2.7million dot titling electronic viewfinder

Who's it for? Enthusiasts who want an advanced mirrorless camera in a portable body, the GX7 has in-body image stabilisation, a useful focus peaking system and good handling.

This is the best camera in Panasonic's camera range. It's a real leap forward in comparison to its predecessor, the GX1, too. It’s a solidly designed CSC with some real stand-out features, including the tilt-angle viewfinder and exemplary touchscreen LCD, that takes great photos, too.

The most impressive feature, however, is its speed, particularly when focusing. Panasonic's Venus Engine and Light Speed AF technology results in focus speeds as low as 0.06 seconds, and you can shoot up to 12 frames at 60fps if you opt to use the electronic shutter.

Price: £699
