Animoog iPad App

Originally reviewed by 02 December 2011

The App Store is home to many fantastic creativity apps, and one of the best of 2011 was Animoog, from the famous maker of synths Moog. It's a full software synthesiser, and one that's been designed from the ground up for iOS devices, while capturing the sound quality that made Moog such a heavyweight name.

Those not familiar with fiddling with waveforms and filters may find it a little intimidating at first, but the great interface makes Animoog just as viable as a fun sonic toy as a compositional tool. It comes with bundles of preset sounds, to let you simply plonk away on the virtual keyboard, or gives you the scope to create your own, starting with a simple waveform.
