Social networking has been one of the most trendy topics for a couple of years now, and everyone is trying to jump on the bandwagon. After all, it is the next stage of the shift towards a more conversational, interactive view of information which is an integral feature of the Internet in general. It has also been deemed responsible for both revolutions in the Middle East and mob looting here in the UK. So the inclusion of social networking connectivity in TomTom's latest sat-nav seems a pretty natural, almost obvious progression.

Problem with Tom Tom is that the maps are useless for Ireland. Excuses by Tom Tom re new routes, changed routing etc are excuses.
You will not find your way round Ireland with the latest UK and Ireland maps so even though the satnav itself is good, the maps make it useless. Better to buy a Garmin as their maps for Ireland are good.

My GoLive 1005 gives confusing directions and loves to take me down farm tracks. I much preferred my old, relatively cheap tom tom one. The live traffic was good, but stopped working over a month ago. Tom Tom support is absolute rubbish. They have got me to reset the device about 20 times, lost all of my favourites, and had me standing in the garden for hours trying to connect to live services. I am now the proud owner of an expensive, yet worthless piece of junk.
You can now get navigation and live traffic on a mobile phone, so why buy an expensive unreliable tom tom?
