OMG! I've seen so many video reviews with Ed in them I read the whole thing in my mind in his voice!

A review of there latest mid ranged SSD, Vertex would be nice. Its been out for 4-5 weeks now and with a lot of interest over the web. I love the site but you lag behind on the computer hardware front, you need a another decent hardware reviewer. When shall i send in my CV in ;)

Good review guys, i tend to agree about the Apex. Keep up the late but good work.

If this drive uses the JMicron controller (and I suspect it does) it really should be avoided. The latest Vertex series have an Indilinx controller which appears to mitigate the performance issues somewhat.

Its early days for SSDs right now. I think the only drive I would lay down my hard earned cash for right now is an Intel one. Though that could change quickly.

@Ohmz: God, that must've been disturbing.

@azza21: I'll get onto OCZ straight away about its latest drives. Unfortunately I spend a lot of my time doing video stuff, so yes we could do with an extra pair of techie hands. Not my call, though.

Ditto, I've been checking the news of the new controller in the Vertex models, would love to see a review as the 60GB version is pretty affordable.

Forgive the pedantry, but the word is FLAIR not FLARE.

PS. Enjoyed the review and liked the testing method.

Don't sweat it, Frank. It's not pedantry. It's the correct word. It's fixed now, thanks. Glad you enjoyed the review.
