Even traditional HDDs are very limited by USB 2.0 so the move to USB 3.0 will still bring large performance gains. Making sure USB 3.0 has extra headroom is crucial for SSDs and the future, otherwise we'll need USB 4.0 before long.

But what is the transfer speed capability of the drive inside?
It's all well and good improving the interface, but if it's still a traditional hard drive inside then surely it wont be able to take advantage of USB 3.0 yet?
