Traxdata Embraces SSDs & MLC Bargain Pricing

Until prices hit a point where we can pick up a warp speed 256GB SSD from the change in our lunch money we shouldn't be satisfied so news of even more competition in the sector is great news...

Optical media heavyweight Traxdata is the latest to show its love for all things solid state and in a ballsy move which takes it to OCZ's Core Series the company has announced a range of SLC (single level cell) and MLC (multi level cell) models that are deeply tempting.
Dubbed the 'Ultra-S Plus Series multi-level cell' and 'Ultra-S Plus Series single-level cell' the two ranges couldn't be more clear on their tech backgrounds and with the former offering read and write speeds of up to 110MBps and 78MBps respectively and the latter churning out 119MBps and 99MBps they are no slouches.

Perhaps even more vital however is Traxdata's impressive pricing with 32GB, 64GB and 128GB editions of the MLC based Ultra S Plus retailing for just £99, £175 and £329 respectively while the 32GB and 64GB SLC line comes in at a more predictably premium £289.99 and £689.99. You probably don't need me to tell you the 64GB MLC is a real sweet spot here.
Topping things off both Ultra S Plus series will be launching immediately with further online discounts likely to sweeten the deal even further. Tempted?
