The CES hype is already starting to build and guess who is at the forefront of it with trumpets blaring...

Samsung, everyone's favourite World First-er, has today revealed it will use the industry's flagship event to demonstrate the world's first 1.3in moving parts hard drive.
Targeted at 'mobile consumer devices', the teeny HDD will look to complement the established 1.8 inchers and though nothing was said about capacity I suspect we'll see them in reduced size iPods in the near future. Furthermore, if Samsung starts a new form factor then expect rivals not to be far behind.
In addition to this mouth-watering mini miracle, 1TB RAID edition HDDs, 320GB laptop HDDs, touchscreen LCDs, LED TVs and a new technology called 'TruDirect' which burns disks without the need for a hard drive will all make an appearance - plus, I suspect, a few surprises.
So the fat man hasn't even been down the chimney yet and we're already dreaming about next year's tech. That'll be the IT industry for you... isn't it great!
