As Christmas approaches, we’ll leave you with this neat idea for a little stocking filler.

Our favourite little Hong Kong gaming exporter and Sony terroriser Lik Sang is responsible for discovering and stocking these third party add-ons which enable users to store content on alternative flash media.

Much like a card reader, the Neo 2in1, 4in1 and 5in1 do what their names suggest, the first being a Compact Flash adapter, the second also taking SD and MMC and the third in addition allowing up to four additional AA batteries to be plugged into it to extend PSP battery life. Unfortunately, you are still limited to the 4GB maximum capacity of the PSP but for now flash memory card prices beyond that remain overly expensive anyhow.

Pricing for the three adaptors isn’t cheap, but it gets more reasonable as you move up the range. The 2in1 costs $79.99, rising to $89.99 and $99.99 for the 4in1 and 5in1 respectively. Lik Sang has them available for pre-order now (so perhaps they don’t make a great, late stocking filler) but they could be useful when you receive that nice present from cousin Timmy you weren’t expecting and have to pretend you did buy him something, but just forgot to bring it…

Happy Holidays!
