Are you conspiratorial? Do Aliens secretly live amongst us? Is the government tapping into our brains and reading our thoughts? Do you have detailed plans illustrating David Hasslehoff’s military plans for world domination? Then you definitely need a psychiatrist and maybe one of these.

SanDisk’s Cruzer Profile is a portable, hi-speed USB2.0 memory key with inbuilt biometric security that has been on the cards for donkey’s years but is only now seeing the light of day. The design itself is incredibly simple: a slim line memory key corded to a miniature fingerprint reader which also acts as its cap. This has the dual effect of keeping the product small (60 x 24 x 14mm) and protecting the surface of the reader from the nasty pocket coinage.

Now I really don’t need to insult your intelligence by explaining how the SanDisk Profile works, but for the cheap seats here it goes: Take the top off the memory key, rub your assigned finger or thumb over the reader to unlock it, plug it into the computer and transfer data, rub your finger back over the reader to lock it and push the two parts back together, mace the security guards on the door, throw a juicy steak in the direction of the patrol dogs, dive into the back of the getaway car driven by your sexy super spy girlfriend and then safely announce to the world that you have irrefutable truth that George W Bush is a sock puppet.

The Cruzer Profile will initially be available in two sizes: 512MB and 1GB and they can be found online now for as little as £37.99 and £77.99 respectively. What self respecting ‘Champion of the People’ would be without one?
