PNY Dresses Memory Keys With Jackets

Memory keys, they are fast becoming the commodity computer item of choice. Cheap, simple and effective they finally put the floppy disk where it belongs: six, maybe 12 feet under.

Now, just because they are cheap as chips (are chips really that cheap?), that doesn’t mean they can’t look stylish and PNY has some new models that can be suited and booted with the best of them.

That is a deliberate turn of phrase, because while the new Color Attaché range (can we call them "Colour Attach" in the UK?!) colour codes: metallic blue, pink, green and white for 128MB, 256MB, 512MB and 1GB respectively, they also come with “Jackets”. Jackets are PNY’s name for interchangeable covers and I quite like it (it reminds me of the "Jumpsuits" Podgear called its Shuffle cases).

The 128MB, 256MB, 512MB and 1GB also come with matt blue, black, green and black again (must be popular) “jackets” and more are set to follow. RRPs for these boys are £24,99, £34,99, £59.99 and £89.99 (incl. VAT) and I’m sure you can work out which price fits which!

It’ll be interesting to see if these covers gather the same momentum as the clip on fronts and backs you see for mobile phones. If so, there should be some cringe worthy variations out there in the near future…
