Isn't the idea of 4K images a bit silly considering the size of the screen one would need to see the added detail provided by the increased resolution? For example, I sit about 10 feet away from a 92" projection screen, which is supposed to allow me to see the added detail provided by 1080p content. For a 4K image, I'd probably have to sit about 5" away from the same sized screen. Either that, or I'd have to go to a 150" screen and sit 10' away. How many people will want to do this in their homes? Maybe I'm missing something...

I agree with Dr Maustus. The article doesn't mention the screen size, distance it was viewed from or the throw ratio. I think glasses-less 3D will be more important than 4k. Is it possible to have glasses-less 3D with a projector?

Your comments system is awful.

Why do you moderate posts if you're going to publish something like my comment above without response? The problem I am having is any comment more than a few lines just hangs at the submit stage. You need to sort this out - it's pretty poor from a professional editorial site, especially one dedicated to tech. I am on IE 8 on Win 7 by the way.

Hi John, I guess there was no reply as there was little to reply to. I haven't heard of this problem before. Are you saying shorter comments post okay? How long is too long? Is it intermittent? Have you tried other browsers? Cheers, Ed

You do have a fairly large source of 4k content...PC games!

Ok you'll need a hell of a PC to power some games at the res, but still!
