Wow that UI looks horrendous. I tested a range of video editors a while ago, and they where all shockingly complex. I ended up using windows movie maker, basic but easy to understand.
I mean honestly would it kill these guys to invest a bit in usability? Adobe is the same.
Although I agree with Brian on the interface, After using Premiere Pro for 7 years , this is not so bad and really works efficiently, especially the GPU Acceleration on AVCHD and H.264 mov out of a Canon 5D Mark II, it's Stabilization is excellent and the unobtrusive rendering smooth, better than Premiere Elements. As this is an 1/8 price of Sony Vegas Pro 10 and based on the same operating system except not 64 bit, it still gives even Premiere Pro 5.5 a go for the money
This is a really good editing suite for AVCHD & H.264 mov clips
I have used Sony Vegas for a long time. The interface may be "intimidating" at first, but in no time you should feel yourself right at home. It great for professional editors and enthusiasts alike. Great performance. I am using Version 13 Vegas Pro. Not Movie Studio bit have used it before. I highly recommend this video editor along with a photo editor. If you hate subscriptions and want something like Adobe Pr, this is your only other option.
