I'm a fan of headphones (as my flat's walls are made of something less than paper). I own sony's last surround headphones (MDRDS6500.CEK) since launch but I have a question about positioning when I gamed with them i found i couldn't tell where anything was behind me. they are based on a psychoacoustic effect for movies this is great 'cos you are looking forward but fps's you need to know where people are because of this I bought Tritton Pro+ which are anything but hifi but they have 4 drivers in each headphone and for directionality they murder the sony's

here's the test I found. load halo 4, on the first level when the computer is giving warnings. find the speakers above then simply walk away from them... does the sound come from behind?

with my sony's it didn't but the trittons did. can you try this with the 700's?

Have to add that a exstra 3 pairs of headphones can be added to this system.
Got Last years system, same as this but only with 1080p and 3D through hdmi.
A japan import. Is this finally going to be sold in Eu? as i was again thinking of importing from japan this 4k system.

Fantastic bass and surround feel 12hours battery life on this one last years 18hours, more than enought for a week usage before charging.

I also have the MDRDS6500.CEK great system, although optical and dvd standard DD/DTS decoding rather than the HDMI on show here, wonder how they perform in comparison.

Very happy with the 6500, but an upgrade with HDMI would be pretty cool, wonder if there is any discernible audio difference.

@Torjs99, I'm assuming you've put it into surround mode and not just stereo when doing the comparison. I use mine exclusively for TV/DVD and not tried any gaming so can't comment on the effectiveness of the 3D sound but sounds sort of disappointing when the likes of yamaha have had this down pat for a good decade or so with 'silent cinema'.

Not on the UK version - its missing the ID Set feature from the Japanese model .. what a shame!
