Nice selection
Just to add to the train times bit - there are two great proper Apps out there - Trains (good name !) and MyRail Lite. The latter is slightly better, the former is better looking.
Can't go on without mentioning "Whoopie"

I'm surprised ((Discover)) was missing (http://bbase.mobi/discover/). It allows you to transfer files to and from your iPhone over a wireless network connection using a web based user interface. Simply enter the IP address of your iPhone in a web browser and you can start transferring files!

Fring is great for IM and VOIP - although not fully featured.
MyRailLite is good as far as it goes - linking in GPS to find your nearest station is a good idea - but you can't do journey planning on it, which you can with Kizoom.
There are some great apps available on Cydia if you jailbreak too. Will TR be reviewing any of them?

Any tools to make the iPhone play my MP3s as ringtones? That would contravene the App Store laws, wouldn't it?

A bit late and wasn't too sure where else to post this, but have you or will you be doing a round up of Windows Mobile apps?

Thanks for the list I've only seen a few of these before. A few I use:
BBCReader is one I find I use quite regularly, it's just a bit easier to browse the news than using Safari, and you can set your favourite categories.
Cricinfo Mobicast might be interesting if you want to keep up with the latest Cricket scores/news, but it has a few bugs.
Graphing Calculator is one which, well, does what it says on the tin, and quite well (there's also Quickgraph which offers 3D graphing). I imagine its appeal will be rather limited, but it's still useful on occasion.
Brain Tuner is a game which I find incredibly addictive trying to get faster and faster times.
