UPDATED: Microsoft Unveils Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade Options Comments

Where we don't yet have an option is the Windows 7 Family Pack ($149) which will allow users to install the same copy of Windows 7 Home Premium on three different PCs. Microsoft says issues with the Windows 7 E SKU mean it will not be ready until 2010.

And yet on the link at the bottom of the news story Microsoft are still taking orders for Windows 7 E ... so it's not like Microsoft are totally sure what's going on with it at the moment.

Do you have any idea how this will affect Pre-orders?
I only pre-ordered (and in fact bought) Windows 7 E with the understanding that it would end up being what is effectively a full version of Windows 7. Not an upgrade, but for the price of one.
If they're now scrapping W7 E, does that mean that all pre-orders will be turned into upgrades? or will they all just get cancelled?

im amazed microsoft even bothers with us europeans ata all deeing as we hit them with stupid fines every couple of months
