Jobs' Apple Return Part Time After Liver Transplant

Steve Jobs will soon be back at work, but only after a rather shocking twist...
According to news which broke from The Wall Street Journal over the weekend, the inspirational Apple CEO actually received a liver transplant about two months ago but it still on schedule to return to the hot seat by the end of June.
Unsurprisingly neither Jobs nor Apple have been drawn on the claim. "Steve continues to look forward to returning at the end of June, and there's nothing further to say," said Apple spokeswoman Katie Cotton towing the company line.

Jobs had previously claimed to suffer from a simple "hormone imbalance" that was "relatively simple and straightforward" to treat, but admitted soon afterwards that "my health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought." Speculation about his health had mounted for sometime after noticeable weight loss in recent years (pictured). In 2004 Jobs was diagnosed with and successfully fought off a rare form of pancreatic cancer called an islet cell neuroendocrine tumour.
When he does return to Apple the 54 year old is initially expected to take on a part time role. Chief operating officer Tim Cook is tipped to be his long term successor but it will be an almost impossible role to fill.
Since returning to save Apple from near bankruptcy in the late 1990s, Jobs vision - in combination with the design skills of Jonathan Ive - were key to the development of three industry changing products: the iMac, iPod and iPhone. Love or hate Jobs and these products, their importance cannot be dismissed and on the most human of levels we wish him a speedy recovery.
