Surely they should have released Opera Mobile rather than Mini?
And why do you keep bemoaning lack of desktop sync on Android? It's a good thing, as all syncing should be done over the air to the cloud.

@autosapien - it should be... in 12/24 months not now where no desktop sync can leave many high and dry. It's like Jobs' preaching about the iPhone: no need for MMS everyone should just email. YES STEVE, good in theory but wait for everyone to catch up, already...

Opera Mini is a Java application already, so porting it is probably far simpler than having to rewrite Opera Mobile (which is only available for WM and Nokia devices).
Syncing to "the cloud" has been available for a long time in Windows Mobile at least, thanks to the marvel of proper exchange server support. And, if you use Google anything, syncing with Android is far easier than trying to sync locally.

Did he say the same about 3G? Or maybe video functionality... What about bluetooth FTP? Or maybe copy/paste...
