Apple has already come out and apologised for its MobileMe errors and now a leaked letter from non other than the big cheese himself has revealed the depth of that frustration...

Describing the product at launch as "not up to Apple's standards" he went on to explain:

"It was a mistake to launch MobileMe at the same time as iPhone 3G, iPhone 2.0 software and the App Store. We all had more than enough to do, and MobileMe could have been delayed without consequence." Adding in a rare moment of humility: "The MobileMe launch clearly demonstrates that we have more to learn about Internet services. And learn we will. The vision of MobileMe is both exciting and ambitious, and we will press on to make it a service we are all proud of by the end of this year."

Fair play SJ but I don't see why you couldn't it have been you who came out and said this publicly in the first place? In all honesty we agree with you, there was too much on Apple's plate and given there were also extensive problems with the iPhone 3G launch, an unfinished feel to firmware 2.0 which had to be updated this morning and the rough and ready finish to many App Store applications which has not been helped by your slow vetting process and yes, you did bite off more than you could chew.

Now let's get this service sorted out, because as even Microsoft will admit cloud based computing is the future...
