Ironically this feature was just announced by Firefox but Opera has beaten it to the punch...

Mike Schroepfer, Mozilla's VP of Engineering, said just two weeks ago that Firefox mobile plans to "sync bookmarks, history and extensions between desktop and mobile editions" - 'Opera Link' syncs bookmarks, Speed Dial and the personal bar. You say tomato...

The first service to leverage the breadth of Opera's entire browser portfolio, Opera Link unites the desktop's 9.5 beta and Mini 4 and offers a web interface for users of any browser here. Furthermore, PC, Mac and Linux operating systems are supported though there was no mention for the Nintendo Wii.

"We refuse to believe people should compromise their experience when they access the Web from different devices," said Jon von Tetzchner, Opera CEO. "With Opera Link, we give them a consistent experience uniquely suited to the way they want to use the Web. But as cool as we think Opera Link is now, we are already hard at work making it even more valuable to our users in the future. Opera Link means convergence without compromise."

More details on Opera Link and the future for its desktop and mobile browsers are expected at the company's Rock Opera event on 25 October so stay tuned. Gotta love those Norwegians....
