Windows 10 is now installed on over 110 million machines

Microsoft has announced impressive adoption figures for its latest operating system.

Terry Myerson, VP of Windows, revealed that over 110 million devices are now running Windows 10.

That’s not bad, considering that halfway through August, Microsoft’s new OS was installed on 75 million devices.

“It’s only been 10 weeks since we started rolling out Windows 10 around the world,” explained Myerson.

He continued: “Over the last year, we’ve been building and shaping this product with millions of Windows insiders.”

Myserson added: “It’s been the best experience for all of us to work together and shape this experience.”

The Microsoft exec also revealed that there have now been over 1.25 billion visits to the Windows app store.

Developers have also had a great time, with dev revenue having increased by four times since the Windows 10 upgrade rolled out.

Myerson was also keen to talk up Windows apps, revealing that Netflix users are now spending more time in the Netflix app than the Netflix website on Windows 10.

He also confirmed that Facebook would be developing an entirely new suite of universal apps for the platform.

Microsoft’s enterprise strategy isn’t working out too badly either, with 8 million business PCs now running the new software.
