Trimmed in black and stainless steel, the Sandstrom S25CSS11’s control panel sees a number of buttons supplemented (unusually) by a jog dial and a push-button release for the door. It has five power levels and programs for auto-cook and auto-defrost features although without a weight sensor these are not quite as ‘auto’ as some other machines’. Getting to grips with the controls can be tricky at first, but with practise all becomes clear and it’s ultimately very easy to use. As always read the instructions although in this instance they’re a bit basic and (horror of horrors) contain no recipes.
The unit performs well in all cooking modes being fast and powerful with both cooking and defrosting modes producing consistent results with no cold spots or soggy bits. Taking advantage of the unit’s capabilities by combing the cooking modes will deliver impressively quick cooking times.
A fairly no-frills machine, if you’re looking for a basic, large-capacity combi oven the Sandstrom S25CSS11 might just tick all the boxes.
