With an A* energy efficiency rating and a 286 litre capacity, the Samsung RL37LGMH would be best suited to small families or couples. It’s tall and slim with a stylish design and modern dark grey colour, so wouldn’t look out of place in any modern kitchen.
The fridge, which is on top of the appliance, has a 201 litre capacity, which is a decent size. The Samsung RL37LGMH only has two doors; one for the fridge and one for the freezer, so it’s easy to see the entire contents of your fridge in one go. The fridge is lit with LED lighting, which gives it a beautiful clean look and doesn’t take up any shelf space.
Inside the fridge there are glass shelves and a single crisper drawer — if you prefer two separate drawers this might not be for you. The shelves could be a bit deeper and it would be nicer if there were more trays for things like cheese and milk or more shelves in the door, but ultimately it’s perfectly functional. It’s also very easy to clean.
The freezer has an 85 litre capacity, which makes it a fairly small freezer compared to others on the market. It has four freezer stars, however, which means that it can freeze food from fresh as well as from frozen and you can keep food in it for up to a year. It is also Frost Free, which means that it prevents big build-ups of ice and frost and hugely reduces the amount of times you have to defrost it.
Frost Free works using a fan, which can make the Samsung RL37LGMH slightly noisy when it goes off once every couple of hours. This should only be a problem if you have a combined kitchen and living room, though, as most of the time it’s very quiet.
If thinking of buying the Samsung RL37LGMH, you might want to look out for the unit’s lack of ice shelf or bottle rack as well as the reported difficulties getting into the top drawer of the freezer when the fridge door is closed. All in all it’s an good appliance, and excellent value for money.
