What happens when the blue ray fails? (which they eventually do) No speaker. A bit too risky for me.

I purchased the HT-E8200 about a month ago. I replaced my Philips HTS 7202/12 or something like that, which by the way was quite a bit more expensive. The Philips had a good sound (2.1), when working properly. The remote was awful. Wi-fi was not built in, but an adapter was needed. It had smart TV, of which, the Philips version was simply awful. It consisted of two speakers, sub woofer and and main unit, with blueray, 3D, yada, yada. It was space consuming with wires all over. Anyway, I gave it to my son.

The Samsung unit is superb. The subwoofer's sound is more subtle, but makes itself known when needed and actually blends into the sound bar. The smart part is excellent and so is two pieces and just two wires. The sound is pure on the entire range. if you crank it up of course it will blow you away, but at low or medium volume everything is intact concerning sound quality.

All in all, I couldn't be more pleased. If you're in the market, give it a thought. An afterthought, if you want surround sound, with bullets whizzing behind your head, you'll not get it. However there is a hint of surround. I suppose it may have to do with where you place the woofer or calculate the speaker distance settings.

Take my word for it, it's very good and will surprise.
