Depending on price – which has yet to be finalised – the Samsung Gear Fit looks like a strong proposition. The fitness tracker is well designed, comfortable and features a stunning display. If it was made compatible with rivals’ phones, Samsung could have stolen the market. As it is, it will impress a market within a market.

Manually start a pedometer? Is this a joke Samsung?

April 22, 2014, 1:51 pm

You only have to manually start the pedometer when you first turn the thing on. I've had this for a week and only had to push the "start" button once. Reviewers all over the web are making waaaaay too big of a deal about the pedometer start button. If you are too lazy to push the button once when you first purchase the product then you need much more than a fitness band to get your self in shape.

Other than that, the review is accurate - definitly more of a smartwatch (or phone companion) than a fit tracker. The app software still needs a lot of work, hopefully Samsung will keep the updates coming to improve the product. I think it has potential but would recommend waiting on purchasing until they figure out some of the more important issues like app integration with S Health.

Review needs update. most of the grumbles were FIXED a year ago, judging by some of the version dates.
The thing works MUCH better than I thought given the early carping and negative reviews I read.
Based on those, I wouldn't have bought one. Mine was a gift and seeing I now had had one ... it is pretty good.

See, the fact that it fell off really scares me.
