Is there any info on the supposed upcoming 4mm Surface-like keyboard cover? I haven't seen any coverage anywhere else or official info/hint about such a thing.

I have the Smart PC (non-Pro) Tablet without the Keyboard. Do you know if it's the same keyboard for the 500T?

No info aside from it's coming and should be available near launch. This has been confirmed to me by a reliable source. [edit] Of course, being on the roadmap doesn't mean it will make it...

No it's a different keyboard dock which won't fit your tab. Cheers.

oooooh yes.... i was almost frustrated, i couldnt find a powerful win8 with 3g/4g connectivity, out of no choice, i was gonna end up with acer w510... i'd prefer asus taichi or sony vaio duo with a slider keyboard, but they both dont come with a simcard slot, but this will do...

Is there any info on the i7 version release or a 256gb Hard drive?

in samsung's global site, the ativ pro has an i5/pdc/celeron processor. what does it mean ? or what is "celeron" doing there ?

"The business version also come with a class-leading five year warranty as standard."
Could you please shed some light on that matter?
I have just ordered from big online FR shop the "rich" model, and i would like to know if the 5-year warranty statement that you made is accurate.
Thank you.

Could you name one rival 8-core i-something tablet with a 256GB SSD?

January 15, 2013, 3:02 pm

Nope unfortunately it's not looking like we'll see either for now...

January 15, 2013, 3:05 pm

Yes that statement is accurate, with the business version referring to the Win 8 Pro model. In fact, if you buy the ATIV Pro from a retailer like Misco (to name but one), you'll automatically get a 5-year warranty on all models.

Sorry for the late replies all, hand't checked this preview in a wee while.

not an 8-core, no, but one example of a high-end Windows 8 convertible that comes with up to a Core i7, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD would be the Lenovo ThinkPad Helix. [http://www.trustedreviews.c...]

January 15, 2013, 3:08 pm

No idea, but none of the UK versions come with Celeron.

January 15, 2013, 3:10 pm

Don't forget that the Lenovo ThinkPad Helix [] also fits your needs...
I'd wait for our shoot-out before deciding :)

I got the new one that just came out here in South Korea, with i5 and 256GB
This article said that a surface like keyboard cover is coming out, but when? They dont have anything like that even on Samsung's Korean homepage or at the samsung stores in Seoul. I totally want to buy one, but sounds like wishful thinking to me!

I originally had the 700T1C-A04 (sim slot version) but i feel there is a design flaw in that if your sim card has got the pin lock enabled, even when the Ativ is put into sleep mode the sim is locked and so has to be unlocked before you can use mobile broadband, I now have from Ballicom the 700T1C-A05 (no sim slot) but 128GB ssd and i am using an external MiFI unit for mobile broadband.

I wonder if this device can use while charging?? Just like an ordinary laptops that you only remove battery then connect to power supply then that's it!, it can use for long time.

there's no tablet laptop with cd support?

This is a real shame, as the powerful Pro tablet inevitably already offers shorter battery life than its Atom sibling.
