The monitor is only supported under XP and Vista, and no 64bit variants. I couldn't get it to work with windows 7, or Linux.

It's a pity they couldn't have added an hdmi, vga or standard connector.

I took it back to best buy.

No, the latest DisplayLink drivers support Mac and Win7, and indeed the machine I tested the 1000P with was running Windows 7 and everything worked without a hitch...
